When is #GUTSelfie 2024?

#GUTSelfie 2024 takes place on Sunday 30th June. #GUTSelfie always falls on the last Sunday in June.

There is no specific time of day to post your #GUTSelfie. Last year, people were posting from 00:01 to 23:59, ourselves included!

How do I sign up for the #GUTSelfie campaign?

Simply, sign up using this form!

Why is #GUTSelfie important?

#GUTSelfie is a day where everyone with a digestive conditions or symptoms come together to raise awareness. Our research has shown that 58% of people are embarrassed about their digestive condition or symptoms. No one should feel alone or isolated, and no one should delay seeking help.

Together, we can take one giant leap towards abolishing the stigma and taboo surrounding digestive health. Together we do more. Together we reach hundreds of thousands of people, in one day. Our voices unite with one key message; it’s time the UK got to grips with guts.

This is our chance to make noise and finally be heard. Sign up to #GUTSelfie 2024 today. Be part of something phenomenal.

Do I have to donate/pay to take part?

No, you are not required to pay to take part in #GUTSelfie or even to receive your #GUTSelfie pack. Raising awareness of digestive conditions and symptoms is our priority, and your #GUTSelfies make this possible.

It would mean the world to us if you were able to donate to Guts UK, or add a fundraising button to your post. Every donation we receive makes #GUTSelfie possible every year, and keeps it accessible to all who want to get involved. If you’re making a donation, please include ‘GUTSelfie’ in the notes box!

What will I receive in my pack?

Your #GUTSelfie pack will include:

  • Brand new 2024 (and top secret until #GUTSelfie day!) #GUTSelfie temporary tattoos
  • A #GUTSelfie board (a great option if you don’t feel comfortable showing parts of your body, or using the temporary tattoos)
  • A leaflet/guide to help you take your #GUTSelfie
  • Plus more!

When will I receive my pack?

When you receive your pack will depend upon when you signed up to #GUTSelfie 2024. Details of when we are going to send these out will be revealed closer to the time!

The deadline to sign up to #GUTSelfie 2024 is the 2nd June 2024 at 5pm. If you haven’t received your #GUTSelfie pack by the 14th June, please contact us.

Do I have to show my body?

We created the #GUTSelfie board within the packs so that those who don’t feel comfortable showing parts of their body could still be involved in our campaign. #GUTSelfie is all about sharing experiences, creating a community and even making friends! Your #GUTSelfie can be just as impactful without using the temporary tattoos on your skin directly, or showing any of your skin.

What can I expect on the day?

Instagram will be flooded with love, support and understanding from our community on #GUTSelfie day. You are all here for different reasons, differing digestive diseases or symptoms. But you all have one important thing in common; you understand. Together we’re building a community and breaking down barriers.

You’ll be joined by hundreds of other people sharing their own #GUTSelfie and story. You will help us take one step closer to getting to grips with guts, once and for all!

#GUTSelfie made me feel like I was a part of a community that I hadn’t been before; It allowed me to stand out whilst fitting in. That’s why I so greatly appreciate the work done by the people at Guts UK.

Supporting the charity in such a phenomenally fun way like #GUTSelfie was epic – they made it so generationally interesting and captivating in its methods (such as the use of creative tools like temporary tattoos). Which helps to catch the eye of all ages. This is great because many think they are out of the age bracket from suffering from digestive diseases which is a great misconception! I look forward to posting my #GUTSelfie and taking part every year!”

Will Guts UK share my #GUTSelfie?

As much as we’d love to be able to shine a light on every single #GUTSelfie we’re notified of, unfortunately this is impossible. Social media only allows us to share so many on the day.

We’re also very keen that our communications reflect the whole of the UK society – so we do our best to highlight #GUTSelfies from underrepresented groups on social media. On the day, we’ll do our best to represent different gender identities, ethnicities, body types, digestive conditions/symptoms and more.

There are instances in which we would be unable to share your content. For example, if you break any of the terms and conditions of #GUTSelfie, or were to promote a product/service.

Our small team always do our best to like and comment on every public #GUTSelfie we are tagged in! Please know that it means the world to us that you joined us for this special campaign – it wouldn’t be what it is without you.

It doesn’t end on #GUTSelfie day:

We continue sharing #GUTSelfies throughout the year – it doesn’t stop on #GUTSelfie day! We may use your image after #GUTSelfie day itself, on awareness days or to promote future #GUTSelfie campaigns. We’ll always do our best to notify you if we want to use your image. Please see ‘How will you use my content and data?’ for more information.
