When is #GUTSelfie 2025?

#GUTSelfie 2025 takes place on Sunday 29th June. #GUTSelfie always falls on the last Sunday in June.

There is no specific time of day to post your #GUTSelfie. Last year, people were posting all day, ourselves included!

How do I sign up for the #GUTSelfie campaign?

Sign up for #GUTSelfie 2025 using this form and we’ll be in touch.

Can’t make it this time around? Don’t worry, details for #GUTSelfie 2026 will be released nearer the time!

Why is #GUTSelfie important?

#GUTSelfie is a day where people affected by digestive conditions and symptoms come together to share their experiences, spark important conversations about our guts, and abolish the stigma and taboo surrounding digestive health.

Our research has shown that 58% of people are embarrassed about their digestive condition or symptoms. We believe no one should feel alone, isolated, or delay seeking help if they need it.

Together, we reach thousands of people in just one day. We’d love for you to be part of the campaign and help us to raise vital awareness!

Sign up to #GUTSelfie 2025 today and be part of something phenomenal!

It’s time the UK got to grips with guts.

Do I have to donate to take part?

No, you don’t have to pay to take part in #GUTSelfie or to receive your #GUTSelfie pack. Raising awareness of digestive conditions and symptoms is our priority and your #GUTSelfies make this possible.

What will I receive in my pack?

Your #GUTSelfie pack will include:

  • Brand new and exclusive 2025 #GUTSelfie temporary tattoos.
  • A #GUTSelfie board to hold up in your selfie (a great option if you don’t feel comfortable showing parts of your body, or using the temporary tattoos).
  • A leaflet/guide to help you take your #GUTSelfie.

When will I receive my pack?

We will be sending #GUTSelfie packs out in early June – keep an eye out for your pack arriving then.

Do I have to show my body?

We created the #GUTSelfie board within the packs so that those who don’t feel comfortable showing parts of their body could still be involved in our campaign. #GUTSelfie is all about sharing experiences, creating a community and even making friends! Your #GUTSelfie can be just as impactful without using the temporary tattoos on your skin directly, or showing any of your skin.

What can I expect on the day?

Instagram will be flooded with love, support and understanding from our community on #GUTSelfie day. You are all here for different reasons and to raise awareness of different digestive conditions or symptoms. But you all have one important thing in common: you understand. Together, we’re building a community and breaking down barriers.

You’ll be joined by hundreds of other people sharing their own #GUTSelfie and story. You will help us take one step closer to getting to grips with guts, once and for all!

#GUTSelfie made me feel like I was a part of a community that I hadn’t been before; It allowed me to stand out whilst fitting in. That’s why I so greatly appreciate the work done by the people at Guts UK.

Supporting the charity in such a phenomenally fun way like #GUTSelfie was epic – they made it so generationally interesting and captivating in its methods (such as the use of creative tools like temporary tattoos). Which helps to catch the eye of all ages. This is great because many think they are out of the age bracket from suffering from digestive diseases which is a great misconception! I look forward to posting my #GUTSelfie and taking part every year!”

How will I hear from team Guts UK?

Once you sign up to #GUTSelfie, everyone taking part will receive a welcome email from us with everything you need to know about taking part. We’ll send you a few more emails and reminders ahead of the big day, with exciting news and developments as #GUTSelfie gets closer.

Our small team – Amy, Leeona and Jade – will be hand to answer all of your #GUTSelfie questions ahead of the day. You’ll become more than familiar with our names!

How do I contact team Guts UK?

The best way to contact us about #GUTSelfie is by email at comms@gutscharity.org.uk

Please note, we receive hundreds of messages and notifications via Instagram in the lead up #GUTSelfie and on the day, so the best way to contact us is by email at comms@gutscharity.org.uk – this way, your message won’t become lost!

Will Guts UK share my #GUTSelfie?

As much as we’d love to be able to shine a light on every single #GUTSelfie we see, unfortunately this is impossible. Social media only allows us to share so many posts and stories on the day. It doesn’t mean we haven’t seen your selfie – we make sure we find every single one and they bring us so much joy!

We want to make sure that our channels reflect the whole of the UK and everyone who’s affected by digestive conditions and symptoms,  so we do our best to highlight #GUTSelfies from underrepresented groups on social media. On the day, we’ll do our best to represent different gender identities, ethnicities, body types, digestive conditions and symptoms, and more.

There are instances where we might be unable to share your content. For example, if you break any of the terms and conditions of #GUTSelfie, or were to promote a particular product/service.

Our small team always do our best to like every public #GUTSelfie we are tagged in. Please know that it means the world to us that you joined us for this special campaign – it wouldn’t be what it is without you.

It doesn’t end on #GUTSelfie day:

We continue sharing #GUTSelfies throughout the year – it doesn’t stop on #GUTSelfie day! We might use your selfie after the day itself, on other awareness days, or to promote future #GUTSelfie campaigns and our wider work. We’ll always do our best to notify you if we want to use your image. Please see ‘How will you use my content and data?’ for more information.
