Last week our fantastic ‘Guardians of the Gut’ ran and walked hundreds of miles for their chosen charities, Guts UK and Crohn’s & Colitis UK. The virtual team included gastroenterologists (gut doctors), scientists, researchers, nurses and their families – all eager to help two important charities looking after the nations’ guts through turbulent and uncertain times.
Team Guts UK and our friends at Crohn’s & Colitis UK have been completely blown away by the incredible support you showed to our fellow ‘Guardians of the Gut’, by kindly donating and sponsoring. The dedicated team chose to support these two charities as both fund crucial research into the guts of the nation. Guts UK is the only UK charity funding research into the digestive system from top to tail; the gut, liver & pancreas. Our friends at Crohn’s & Colitis UK fund research into and support people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Over 60 of you took part – very impressively running and walking over 300km!
We’re incredibly grateful for all your heartwarming support. Thank you for running, walking, involving loved ones, donating and sharing our #VirtualRunforGuts fundraising page far and wide.
Your support comes as a warm virtual hug, at a time when our community needs us more than ever. Your support allows us to still be there for those who need us most.
