Catch Guts UK on BBC Radio 4!

9th June 2021

Guts UK has some exciting news to share… We will feature on the BBC Radio 4 Appeal very soon!

  • Sunday 13th June 2021 @ 7:54am and 9:25pm
  • Thursday 17th June 2021 @ 3.27pm

We are honoured to have this opportunity, happening on the eve of our official 50th birthday. This is a platform that can help Guts UK reach more people who need our information, those who may not even know Guts UK exists.

The appeal will be available to listen to online here, very shortly after the first airing.

The appeal will be presented by highly acclaimed financial journalist John Authers. John had his own harrowing experience of pancreatitis ten years ago. Since then, he’s been an advocate for raising awareness and funding more research into pancreatitis and other digestive diseases.

“Pancreatitis is just one of many digestive diseases. It’s a misunderstood and underfunded area of health – from irritable bowel syndrome to stomach cancer. That’s why Guts UK exists; to drive the important change we need” – John Authers.

The more people you can tell about this appeal, the more you are helping us reach those who may be struggling in silence. It might even be lifesaving. Please help spread word of the appeal amongst those you know.

John has recorded a preview of his experience with pancreatitis, which can be heard below. To listen to Guts UK’s full appeal and John’s story in more detail, tune into BBC Radio 4 on the above dates and times or listen online here.

Thank you for helping us get to grips with guts!
