Spill Your Guts
Sharing your personal stories and experiences with digestive conditions and symptoms is an incredible way to help raise awareness.
If you live with a digestive condition, we’re sure you’re no stranger to spilling your guts, about your guts.
From helping people to better understand the impact that conditions and symptoms have on our everyday lives, to encouraging them to get to know the signs and symptoms to look out for and know when to seek help if they need it in the future – your experiences have the potential to make a real difference.
We so often hear you say, “If this helps even just one person going through the same thing, it’ll be worth it.”
And so, we’re asking you to join us on social media between Monday 13 and Sunday 19 July as part of our first-ever Let’s Talk Guts campaign.
What is Let’s Talk Guts?
It’s a new campaign from Guts UK, the national charity for the digestive system, with one simple goal: to get people across the UK talking about their guts.
If you live with a digestive condition or symptoms, you know all too well how important it is to talk about your guts – with your friends and family, with medical professionals, with your school or employer – with absolutely anyone and everyone around you.
What do you need to do?
We’re asking you to help us flush away the stigma by telling people why it’s so important to speak up about their gut health and talk about their digestive symptoms.
Thinking about your own experiences, what would you tell them?
- Pick a day between Monday 13 and Sunday 19 July to share a post on a social media platform of your choice.
- Choose the format that works for you – a short and chatty talking to the camera video or a longer ‘day in the life’, a photograph and a caption that provides a snapshot of your day, or a text-based post that lets you share your thoughts in your own words – however you’d like to share, you decide.
- Post to one or more of your favourite social media channels and tag us @gutsukcharity and #LetsTalkGuts.
