What is Kranky Panky?
Kranky Panky is pancreatitis awareness campaign from Guts UK Charity. It takes place each November and amplifies the voices of people and families affected by pancreatitis.
Pancreatitis can have a devastating impact on families. Pancreatitis is an under-researched area of health care and more must be done to help people living with the condition. At Guts UK, we’re proud to be the only charity funding a research fellowship into pancreatitis.
Guts UK is passionate about raising awareness of pancreatitis. We want to amplify the voices of those living with acute pancreatitis and chronic pancreatitis and generate more funds for high-level research into the causes and treatments for the condition.
Kranky Panky came from our community – it was a nickname given to pancreatitis by patients! Together, we have created an annual awareness campaign that has so far seen 210 individual stories shared by people affected by pancreatitis, from people living with condition to families who’ve lost a loved one to the condition.
