Let’s Get Particular About Diverticular!

This Diverticular Disease Awareness Week, we’re getting particular about diverticular disease, and we want you to join us!

We launched Diverticular Disease Awareness Week in 2023 to raise awareness of this common but often unheard of digestive condition, but this year, our Let’s Get Particular About Diverticular campaign is dedicated to making diverticular disease easier to understand, easier to talk about, and harder to ignore.

We’ll be real with you… diverticular disease can be confusing. Diverticulum, diverticula, diverticulosis, diverticular disease, diverticulitis… the definitions can all get a bit twisted. We’re here to help you untangle them.

Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking things down with our ‘Diverticular Dictionary’ and getting particular about the questions that matter most to those who are affected by the condition.

We’ll be getting particular about:

  • What diverticular disease is and the symptoms – helping you understand diverticular disease and the symptoms to look out for.
  • Managing it – our Guts UK team will answer frequently asked questions from our helpline and share their top tips for managing diverticular disease day to day.
  • Real life – you’ll hear from people living with diverticular disease and the things they wish they had known, to help others feel less alone.
  • Answering your questions – we’re going LIVE!

Guts UK Save the date picture for the Let's get particular about diverticular! campaign Live stream. 8 October at 6pm. Shows a calendar and a gut cartoon illustration of 'Diverticular Dave', as well as social media icons for Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and LinkedIn.

For the first time, Guts UK is hosting a LIVE conversation on social media dedicated to diverticular disease.

We’ll be keeping it informal and open, talking about the realities of living with diverticular disease, managing symptoms and some of the common questions that can come with a diagnosis.

Tune in on Thursday 8 October at 6pm. We’ll be streaming across LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram at the same time – so you can choose your preferred platform and join the conversation live. Simply head over to our channel and click join when we go live.

Alternatively, you can click one of the links below.
