Guts UK and the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) are passionate about nurturing the researchers of the future, to discover new knowledge about our guts. We’re proud to open the 2020 ‘Trainee Research Awards’.
These awards are open to trainee doctors, who are eager to conduct research or audit/quality improvement within the specialty areas of gastroenterology (gut), hepatology (liver) and pancreatology (pancreas) including the area of nutrition.
Our guts have been underfunded, understaffed and undervalued for decades. In the UK alone, millions suffer from digestive diseases and often have little or no treatment options. Guts UK exists to change that.
Guts UK and the BSG are making £50,000 available for trainee doctors. These awards must address a real clinical need and have clear patient benefit. Trainees can apply individually or can work collaboratively, as a ‘network’ of trainees.
Inspiring the bright, enquiring minds of junior doctors at the start of their career is Guts UK’s way of ensuring our future leaders and researchers remain within gastroenterology.
You can be part of this change. Apply for these awards here.
