On World IBD Day every year, patient organisations come together from all over the globe to raise awareness of Crohn’s disease & Colitis. Guts UK is proud to fund over 10 current active research projects into Crohn’s & Colitis.
What is IBD?
Crohn’s disease and Colitis (often ulcerative or microscopic) are referred to as Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). They are long-term conditions that involve inflammation of the gut.
Have the IBD community been affected by Covid-19?
Many of those that have Crohn’s or Colitis will take immunosuppressants, suppressing the immune system and putting the IBD community at higher risk of severe illness if they were to contract coronavirus Covid-19.

What research do Guts UK fund into IBD?
Since Guts UK was founded in 1971, we have funded a whopping76 research projects exploring IBD.
The digestive system is an incredible but complex system and the better we understand how it works, the better we can look after it. Our research has the capacity to change and save lives, please consider donating to support our research programme today.
