Congratulations to Dr Palak Trivedi for winning the first Dr Falk/Guts UK SpR Award
The winner of the first Dr Falk Pharma/Guts UK SpR Trainee Audit/Quality Improvement Award has been announced by the expert panel.

Dr Palak Trivedi at the University of Birminham has won the full amount of £10,000 for his project on “Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Care Delivery Following Liver Transplantations for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC)”

The Dr Falk/Guts UK SpR Award has been designed to encourage young doctors to consider quality improvement projects that address an area of clinical need within gastroenterology, pancreatology, liver disease or nutrition and that demonstrate clear patient benefit.

Dr Riadh Jazrawi, Medical Director of Dr Falk Pharma UK comments:”We at Dr Falk Pharma UK are delighted to be able to work with Guts UK to reward this excellence in improving quality of care and to encourage the next generation of gastroenterologists and hepatologists.”

Guts UK CEO Julie Harrington says of the new SpR Award: “One way of overcoming the current variation and fragmentations within the NHS is by audit; that is by providing tangible outcomes on successful local projects which can then potentially be taken on in other regions. The results from our first award have shown that there is much interest in this area and we are delighted to be partnering with Dr Falk Pharma UK for another year of Awards.”
